Loose Pieces is a free puzzle game you play in your browser at loosepieces.io. There are no accounts and no sign-up. This page says what the game keeps, what other services see when you play, and how ads use cookies.
What the game keeps on its server
- The name you type, if you type one. Other players see it on the scoreboard and over your piece. Without one you're "Player" and a number.
- Your scores on the pictures you play, for the scoreboards.
- A random session number that keeps your seat if you reload. It isn't tied to who you are. Sessions that haven't been used for a week are deleted.
- Share pictures: when you share, the picture of the puzzle and your score is stored so links can show a preview. They're deleted after a week.
- Daily counts: how many people played, came back, finished a picture or shared, kept for 60 days. They're numbers, not a record of who you are.
The game doesn't store your IP address. It looks at it only for a short time, in memory, to stop anyone uploading too many share pictures at once. The server is in Canada.
What your browser keeps
Your settings, your name, your best score, which tips you've seen, which pictures you've played lately and, if you watch an ad for it, when your ad-free time ends. These stay in your browser's storage and are never sent anywhere. Your session number is kept in the browser tab and goes away when you close it.
Other services the page loads from
- Google Fonts, for the lettering.
- jsDelivr, for the 3D graphics code.
Like any website you load something from, these see your IP address and browser when they send the files.
